Mega-search engine Google is in the process of scanning entire library collections to create an online library of millions of searchable volumes. Google already offers a sizeable collection of older biblical studies works that are in the public domain, including works by Hermann Gunkel, S. R. Driver, Julius Wellhausen and Wilhelm Martin Leberecht de Wette, to name but a few. To find these and other biblical studies books on Google, use their Advanced Book Search facility at: http://books.google.com/advanced_print_search.
For further details and links to selected biblical studies works on Google, see the article ‘Google Books and Biblical Studies: A Developing Resource’ by Bob Buller in the SBL Forum: http://www.sbl-site.org/Article.aspx?ArticleId=605.
